Biologger Project
The Sumatran orangutan population is so low they are on the critically endangered list. This is largely due to habitat clearing (for palm oil), fragmentation, hunting and the illegal pet trade.
Along with a small team and in collaboration with a conservation program, I'm working to develop a tracker capable of logging health and location information. With this project we hope to provide enough data to government officials to manage and conserve this important orangutan habitat and critical watershed, both for its biodiversity and its surrounding human communities.
